Energy costs in Australia are on the increase and LED lights and LED lighting is the best and most cost effective way to reduce the cost of your lighting needs. Building Stuff has a range of LED light fixtures and retro fit LED globes to suit most applications.

LED globes are a great replacement for those energy sapping halogen downlights. Building Stuff now has dimmable LED bulbs that are a direct replacement in either MR16 or GU10 base. These globes are rated at 200 lumens.

LED spot light bulbs are available in various beam angles from a very tight 15 degrees through to 60 degrees. Our LED downlight bulbs are 180 beam which eliminates the shadows common with halogen downlights.

Recent improvements in LED technology has seen a massive improvement in the quality of lighting available from LED lights. Over the life of the LED light (50,000 hours) it is the cheapest form of lighting to operate. For pricing camparisons between your existing lights and what you could be using see the chart below.

An LED light may cost a little more than CFL initially but the total running cost over 50,000 hours works in favour of LED. Imagine not having to change a light bulb for 50,000 hours of use!

A typical CFL is expected to last between 5,000-10,000 hours, and an incandescent only 1,500 hours!!! An LED light is expected to last 50,000 hours.
